Perhaps this weekend you are hosting a garden party with the girls or attending one. Wedding season is pretty much here too. To me this is a great season for Rosé! If you are struggling to find a great wine for a wedding, Rosé is a great option, serve with the appetizers or during cocktail hour. However, I think of Rosé and garden parties with the girls on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. The guys are out playing golf, watching a game or whatever those guys do and its the perfect time to rally your girlfriends for some fun appetizers and some dry Rosé! Don’t get me wrong, Rosé is great during other times of the year as well but the early summer is the perfect time to break away from the big reds and enjoy something that has similar depth but lighter in feel.

I have always wanted to travel to Paso Robles and try those wines. The area does tend to favor Rhone Varietals but its actually a very unique location with the rolling country side and the back roads leading to elegant wineries. I was able to try Adelaida and fell in love with their wine style. As I tried the Rosé I instantly new this was a keeper and recognized how versatile it is with the seasons as well as food. Adelaida Version Rosé Anna’s Estate Vineyard 2013 is a memorable wine I will continue to try with each vintage. The wine is a blend of Grenache Noir, Cineast, Counoise, Mourvedre.

Wine Notes:

Nose: Strawberries, Basil, Hint of Nutmeg, and Floral. No zing just soft and easy
Taste: Pink Grapefruit, Basil, Juniper, Lemon Zest, Hint of Cucumber, and Red Raspberries.

Very elegant and an easy drinker. No lingering after taste very balanced. I recommend chilling the wine for about an hour or more and then pour the wine and let it set for about 10 minutes. This will really enhance the flavors and characters of the wine. I truly recommend this wine for your next garden party or even just sitting outside during a warm afternoon catching up with an old friend.

Ahhhh the sun is out, the weather is warmer, and it is practically June.
